what we do
pop design
the pop approach to social | cultural | environmental cities
Founded in November 2014, camelpolitan is an independent webzine about global trends and directions in sustainable and socially equitable urbanization. We get excited about new ideas and ways of creating places that bring people together and slow down the pace of life. Driven by a mission of inclusivity, we feature a wide range of voices and the latest conversations about the direction of people and cities. Our mantra is inspired by one of our favorite movies, Ratatouille: Not everyone can become a great designer, but a great designer can come from anywhere. The most exciting changes in cityscapes are happening in the universality of social, cultural, and environmental design by a variety of creators and creations. Showcasing the work of everyone, from artists to architects, and an eclectic mix of projects, from art installations to masterplanned communities, we are curators of a vast landscape where anyone can be included in the process of making great open lounges. By attracting a wide audience, camelpolitan breaks down barriers and inspires anyone who wants to dream fearlessly about new ways and places to stand, sit, and talk in the open. Let imagination be more important than knowledge.

camelpolitan provides an informal place to unwind amidst booming mobility. As our world becomes busier, faster, and more efficient, we need more opportunities to slow down and be carefree and spontaneous for a precious moment or two. Through the lens of art and architecture, camelpolitan explores an eclectic universe of people and projects that make slowing down feel good. A cornucopia of surprising designs and designers with a knack for hospitality and an ear for the backbeat are to be discovered. Spaces that bring people together and nature to infrastructure are essential for the nourishment of cities. Vive les salons.
